Not bad, relatively durable, but also quite annoying...
As far as the aesthetics go, this is a nice looking toy. If you have a little pirate in your life, then they're going to be satisfied with this item on that alone. The build quality is good and I don't see it just falling apart at any time in the near future (in fact, like all of his toys, my nephew has been pretty hard on this one, and it shows few ill effects).
Hard to review - it was broken on arrival
I was nonetheless able to determine that it was a reasonably decent toy. My boys seemed very excited to open and look at it. It was sturdy enough but not exceptional. It's similar in function "sister" product (the Treasure Chest from Wild Planet) has received many good reviews. Unfortunately, this came dead in the water - the on/off switch or something downstream of that didn't properly engage the sound activation as it was intended. FYI, Amazon was very easy with their return proces...
