It doesn't work miracles, but...
It is quiet and I love the permawick filter. I had one before for about five years and it quit working, so I bought this one to replace it. It just doesn't seem to put out the same amount of moisture as the old one did. My friends love it - they say theirs is too loud to keep on and watch TV....

Hunter Humidifer is Junk
I own this humidifer. The problems are: Water is able to reach so many parts that then promote the growth of mold and bacteria and hard water deposits. These areas are not able to be cleaned throughly and therefore this humidifier is hazardous to your health. The permanent filter is metal and gets covered with scale and cannot be cleaned with vinegar or other cleaner solvents. Terrible product line!
i've owned several different models of these hunter humidifiers over the years, and they're all junk! they work for ONE season only. if it doesn't bother you to spend over a hundred dollars a year for a humidifier, if it doesn't bother you to treat this as a seasonal, disposable item, then by all means, buy it. Each model we've owned has ceased to operate after one season - the motor simply will not turn on. One year, Hunter's customer service graciously sent me a new one, but even so, to be...
