Good value, quite convincing I've owned it all of 8 hours and I am pleased so far. I paid $179 with free shipping, but not through Amazon.

I had a gel fuel corner fireplace, and for realism, you can't beat gel -- real flames and they crackle; however, when the fireplace isn't burning, it looks dreary. I rigged mine with red flickering bulbs and crumpled red and orange tissue paper so it didn't look dead when I wasn't burning fuel, but it was such a pain to dismantle when I wanted a fire that for more than three years... –Passantefrom Amazon.com

Great Fire in my Fireplace I mounted an LCD Television over my fireplace and resolved never to have a fire in the fireplace. We started missing seeing a fire there, so I started looking for a fake fire. All of the items I looked at fell short of realitiy except for this product. We all enjoy seeing the warm glowing fire and dancing flames. We do not use the heater as I do not want to over load the outlet. The only drawback is the mirror like back that tends ro reflect light.
