great alarm clock but not quite "Ultimate"
The is a really good alarm clock, but it's by no means perfect or "Ultimate." I bought it to replace a perfectly functional Braun alarm clock whose annoyingly loud ticking sound finally drove me to get a new clock. The Seiko is more a bedside clock than a travel alarm clock because it's huge, measuring 5" tall and 4.5" wide.
Perfect - after a slight modification
Legibility at night and during the day is great, the ease of performing any function either during the night or day is great. The alarm itself is LOUD and very jarring though, so I opened the clock up to see what could be done. My modification is to open the clock up and put a simple foam earplug into a space above the alarm speaker. Easy to read
Purchased for my Mother, of 87 yrs, and she can easily see the the time and likes the styling. We are very satisfied with the bedside clock.
