Didn't last a year and very hard to remove!
This was a piece of cake to install and looks great for about a year. At the 1 year mark the chrome started bubbling and pealing. When I tried to take the toilet seat off to replace it, I discovered that one of the plastic bolts had fused with the rod that was holding the seat it in place. I had to cut it off with a serrated knife. The whole process took me an hour. This toilet seat is junk.

Never buy, two seats broke
We have four bathrooms, three with another type of toilet seat. The Mayfair has broken 2 times in 2 years. We have the same opinion as the woman in Hollywood. Were the latest made with inferior composite wood, or another cheap substitute from China????

Do. Not. Buy.
The "chrome" started flaking off the hinges almost immediately, and the seat (the *wood* seat) snapped in half on one side after about three months. Seriously. Three months. The stupid thing doesn't even get much actual use -- I live alone (except for a dog, who's way too short and way too stupid to attempt toilet training with), and it's not like all my friends are great big linebackers and great big sumo wrestlers and we have great big parties at my apartment wherein we hang out in the freakin...
