Extremely easy to set-up and use, I've purchased others in the past as well.
Inport on wrong side
Unlike most other thermostats, the LUX 1500 places the port for the furnace wires to enter the thermostat on one side, thus making it impossible to use if the wires coming out of the wall are on the other side. There is no recess in the mounting plate to accommodate the wiring and the wall screw hole is located right over the hole that the wires come out of the wall. The user does not have other screw holes to use as alternatives to fasten the mounting plate to the wall.
Easy install. Works well.
It only took about 45 minutes to install and test. For the price, it's a very good thermostat. My old programmable thermostat listed the hours of use for the day, week and prior week. The hour counter also gave a reminder to change the furnace filter after a programmable number of hours on the fan (this one just counts days) I miss that feature but don't think you could do better at the price-point of this one.
