  • 1.1  What is StreetPrices?
    StreetPrices is a price comparison search engine specializing in consumer electronics and computer parts. We have been searching out the lowest prices online since 1997, finding the best deals so you don't have to!
  • 1.2  How does your service work?
    Browse links or type in a manufacturer, part number or key word in our search box to find the items you are looking for. Click on 'Compare Prices' for the product of your choice or refine your search query for more results. Compare shipping, prices and in-stock status from a variety of merchants and click through to be taken directly to the product page on the merchant website. Finding items is easy and fast!
  • 1.3  What if a price seems too good to be true?
    Some merchants are able to offer fantastic savings by not having the overhead costs of a brick and mortar location. Other merchants specialize in selling different kits or a camera that is body only or may be grey market. We suggest you confirm what package you are ordering and what warranties and accessories come with the item before you place an order. If you don't feel comfortable with merchants you are not familiar with, order from one of our companies you know and trust.
  • 1.4  What is 'Grey Market'?
    Gray market items are products that are genuine manufacturer brand items that are marketed and sold to audiences in countries other than the US. These items may be less expensive than a US model due to exchange rates and warranties. A gray market item may require warranty and servicing to go through a retailer in another country.
  • 1.5  Are the items listed on StreetPrices new or refurbished?
    StreetPrices has listings of both new and refurbished items, however an item that is not in new condition should have that information clearly stated on the product page. If you find that an item is refurbished but was not stated as such, please contact us via the 'flag' link at the top right of the page, and let us know the manufacturer name, part number and the name of the merchant.
  • 1.6  How do I find an item I want to buy?
    We offer links to different product categories on the home page if you want to browse by category. If you know what you are looking for, you can search by manufacturer, part number or key word. Once you get to a search result page, you will see our standard search results. We also offer our 'Classic Search' which may include a wider variety of items. If you would like to see which categories on the website are matching your search query, click the 'Results Tree' tab to see the hierarchy.
  • 1.7  Can I place the order on your website?
    No. All orders are placed directly with the merchant, either online or by phone.
  • 1.8  Can I call you to place the order?
    No. If you would like to shop by phone please contact the merchant directly.
  • 1.9  Where can I report a problem with a merchant?
    Feedback can always be submitted through a product page on which a merchant appears by clicking the link 'rate seller' . After submitting feedback you will be asked to validate your e-mail address. A copy of the feedback is also sent to the merchant and they will have a chance to contact you to try and resolve the issue.
  • 1.10  How can I contact someone at Streetprices?
    We are reachable by phone at 650-988-1100 between the hours of 9AM and 5PM Pacific Time Monday through Friday. If you would like to reach us outside of normal business hours, please contact us via the feedback form at the top right of this page. Be sure to include your contact info!
  • 1.11  Can I search on StreetPrices using a chat program?
    Yes! Using AOL instant messenger, send a message to StreetPricesBot for price quotes on any item we carry, 24 hours a day. We'll include a link to the product page, too, in case you want more details. To get started, type in an item, key word or 'help'.

  • 2.1  How do I get started?
    Signing up for an account is quick and easy. Just visit our account signup page at https://ssl.streetprices.com/signup/ to start your account. An e-mail with a link to our electronic contract will be sent to the e-mail address provided. After viewing the contract, click 'I accept' and your account details will be sent to you.
  • 2.2  How much does it cost?
    StreetPrices uses a progressive charge per click pricing model with rates starting at $0.50 per click. StreetPrices uses a declining balance system in which click charges are deducted from a positive account balance. There are no set-up fees or additional deposits. All you need is to make an initial payment of $100 or more from which your click charges will be deducted.   • 2.3  How do I login?
    You will be sent an e-mail with your account login information after accepting the electronic contract. You may also access your account login page here: http://acct.streetprices.com
  • 2.4  How often do you crawl?
    If you would like to post your pricefile to an URL for us to retrieve, we crawl every 15 minutes to check for a new file
  • 2.5  What is your pricefile format?
    Your pricefile can be a tab, comma or pipe delimited text file or an Excel spreadsheet. We can work with many pricefile fields but we do require the following information:

    Manufacturer Name
    Manufacturer Part Number
    Product Price
    Product Description
    URL

    In addition to these we also recommend shipping and in stock information as well as image URLs.
  • 2.6  Why are some merchants highlighted in different colors or listed first?
    These are different features offered by StreetPrices to optimize your product listings. To view all options, please log into your account and click 'customize your listings'.
