Hints on Searching the StreetPrices.com Index
- Remember that the index is compiled from online catalogs, so choose
keywords that a vendor is likely to choose.
- Choose unique keywords that distinguish the item you are looking for
from other items in the index. Registered trademarks such as Pentium
and Sportster make excellent choices. Distinctive part numbers such
as 3c509 also work well.
Examples
- "pentium iv" The use of double quotes matches
an exact phrase. This query, when used with other descriptive words
such as 1.4 or board limits entries to those involving the
Intel Pentium IV Processor, compatible Motherboards, or complete Systems.
- pentium -"pentium ii" -"pentium pro" The
use of the minus sign excludes the following word or phrase. This query
is a great way to narrow down to Intel Pentium Processors without the Intel
Pentium Pro and Intel Pentium II Processors.
- 'at' The use of single quotes matches word boundaries.
Single quotes may be used singly to indicate a word boundary only
at the beginning or end of a work. This query, when used with other
keywords such as pentium and 'pci' will find AT
motherboards with PCI slots.
- "'18* gb" The use of the * wildcard. This query when
used with other keywords such as SCSI will locate a
variety of SCSI hard drives with both 18.X and 18X.X gigabytes of space.
This query would also match 1800 to 1899 gigabyte drives, were
they to exist. :)
- pentium iv atleast:300 The use of the atleast
directive filters out items that are cheaper than the specified amount.
This query will find the higher priced cpus by filtering out the
lower priced fans and motherboards that were designed for the
Intel Pentium IV.
