Ok, the first thing you have to deal with is the fact that you just spent an inordinate amount of money on a countertop appliance. Anyway, after you get over that, things do get better. I opted for the 3.5hp MX1200 Extreme but not because of the power bump, but because I wanted the analog variable speed control. Aside from that; it's nearly the same as the MX 1000. Waring MX1000R Is A Workhorse Having arrived back from a Costa Rica, I wanted to continue the enjoyment of making frozen drinks. This Waring blender is the best I've ever had, or seen. Stopped working after just 2 months I bought this Waring MX1000 because of all the good reviews it had here at Amazon. I thought I was getting the best. Boy was I disappointed. Everybody else seems to love it.

Pros: Powerful.

Cons: Expensive, loud. It's a commercial model so don't expect any recipes whatsoever, or intructions or ideas on how best to use the machine.
