didn't hold up I bought the 8 cup about 6 months ago. The coffe was good and I'll not go back to drip. The problem was I dropped it and didn't realize the plastic cracked. I kept rinsing it out after each use( I never submerged it)and about a week later it quit. I took it apart and found water had gotten into it. I dryed and cleaned it, fixed the crack, but it still won't heat up. I can't send it in for warranty because I dropped it. I thought it should have held up better for $50.00.I will buy a different br... –jmtfrom Amazon.com

Did you ever BOIL EGGS in the coffeepot......seriously? Yes, I did it! Without the gas stove one day, I put 3 eggs in the water for over an hour and half, and whoooola! The eggs boiled in the hot water. I just plugged and unplugged a few times for fresh heat.

It is rare that I see people using these Farberware coffeemakers, and for some reason they are stuck with those dreadful Mr. Coffee-type-things. Farberware electric percolator This product has definitely lost its quality. We had a Farberware percolator that lasted 15 years. It finally quit and we bought a new one expecting the same quality. The new one lasted less than 18 months. Customer service department was not helpful. It makes great coffee. But considering its cost and short life span, it's not worth it.
