23 Apr 2009 Don't Buy this kettle! I got this kettle and was mostly happy for about a month. First thing is that the lid has to be on lock to heat the kettle, but then to pour it you use a squeeze trigger on the handle. The options on the lid are clearly printed lock or open, and I was afraid that a guest might not see the squeeze trigger and think they needed to move the lid to the open position.

Second, the lid comes off even when in lock position when you pour. That can be easily fixed by holding the lid in place, but ... –Valfrom Amazon.com
19 Apr 2009 Kettle stopped working after about 6 months Initially, water boiled in the kettle smelled of chemicals (I assume from the plastic), but this problem went away after using the kettle for about a week ... after which it worked well for about 6 months.

However, the kettle has now stopped working ... the problem seems to be in the electrical contact in the base ... I was able to get it to work by pressing down hard on the kettle ... but now, even that does not work.

17 Apr 2009 Love my Tea Kettle!!! After my first trip to Britain in 1994, I was so thrilled with their tea/coffee kettles I just HAD to have one. I lived in CA and looked far and wide. I could only find one in a very expensive specialty shop. On my second trip abroad in 1999, I used the kettles again in every hotel room and B&B. I was determined to get one of my own back home.
