21 Mar 2009 Terrible heating element...tons of residue I used the kettle about 3-4 days a week for about 4 months. I will say it heats quickly and was reliable. It is a little noisier than a Braun I also have, but no big deal. I ended up throwing it away yesterday because I finally couldn't stand the residue (heating element is NOT concealed). The stainless portion of the element (or whatever it's coated with) began to flake off and a ton of buildup would deposit on the rest of the element. 05 Mar 2009 True Workhorse and Lasting Quality This kettle just keeps going and going and going and going. It's plastic, so when people say cheap, well, it's a plastic kettle, it's not stainless steel or aluminum like one you'd place on a stovetop.

I personally have had two of these, the original stayed in the house I moved out of and I know for a fact it's still working after about 4 years of several times daily use. 15 Dec 2008 Toastess TJK-28W 1500 Watt Electric Kettle This kettle boils very fast, that is the best part. When you open the lid the condensation on the inside of the lid drips down the side - that is the minus part but may not bother everyone.
