Will not last when slicing meat
I owned this slicer for two years, and used it maybe twenty times at most--usually for slicing ham. At first it seemed to work fine. Then I noticed it ran a bit slower with each use until it finally quit working entirely. I disassembled the slicer to see if it could be repaired. Compared with the Chef's Choice 610 (under $100), 630 was made in Germany, that is all. If this make you feel better every time you use it, that is worth the extra $100+ you paid for this model. Unlike the 630, Chef's Choice 610 has a fix tilt for gravity-feed, but 630 does not. why no...
