Good heavy pot, nice fry basket, but incredibly ugly I'm sorry, but this pot is ugly. I knew that going into this purchase. It is one of the ugliest designs I have ever seen.

This pot, with fry basket, weighs in at 5+ lbs. One of the heaviest things in my kitchen. There are some negative reviews here about the hole in the lid. I bought this pot specifically for deep frying on the stovetop and that hole is essential for the fry basket handle. I agree the photos don't do it justice and they could have done better. An Almost Perfect Popcorn Popper I wanted a Farberware pot and I wanted a 4 qt. pot so I decided to take a chance and order it. I solved the problem with the opening on the lid with a foil "patch". I just put the popcorn in---no shaking which I like for my ceramic stovetop, no scorched pot, and no unpopped kernels!!! –bojinx34from Amazon.com

Deep frying made easy! If I can do it----you can't miss! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Got it? Now follow the directions and let your imagination go. Oil temp is easy to maintain. Farberware been around for past 35 years, at least. Cause that's when I bought my first set. Did'nt Elvis like deep fried bananas? Maybe dip them in egg nog first and then deep fry? –Joel J.
