12 May 2009 Motor is too weak What a huge disappointment. I bought one of these at a local store last week and returned it. It looks good. The aluminum container is relatively heavy gauge. 17 Aug 2008 good-looking piece of junk I've made tons of ice cream with other freezers (now rusted out), but this item is not worth bothering with. The electrical mechanism shut down, the hand crank made an incredible amount of noise--sounded like the gears were stripping--and barely worked at all. We were trying to make ice cream for a social at church, so we were sweating bullets trying to get the thing to work. 13 Jan 2008 We haven't had much luck with this product... I was actually searching for other customer reviews in hopes of finding some helpful hints for this contraption. We purchased this product at Target about a year ago because we had relatives who had such good luck with their old fashioned crank-style ice cream churns. We liked the classic design and the electric mixing option. But we've had quite a bit of difficulty with this.
