Okay, so this is the first rice cooker I have ever had and I am so thrilled with it. I can't believe I went so long without one. I did a lot of research before purchasing this one, and I think it is important to get a rice cooker with a snap shut lid like this one to keep the rice moist. A lot of rice cookers just have glass tops that are apparently ancient relics in other countries because they just don't do as good of a job as ones with a sealed lid. Great for 2-3 people
The "cup" isn't really a cup - more like 3/4 of a cup, so if you really need 4 cups, you may want a larger unit. Nevertheless, this is a great rice cooker. It makes flawless rice with almost no effort. It's perfect for two people - makes enough for a meal with leftovers for a second meal. Would probably be OK for 3-4 people if you wanted to make a fresh batch with every meal. Extremely easy to clean, too. We're very happy with it and use it all the time.

This is not a food steamer! Don't buy!
This is NOT a food steamer. I purchased it as a Christmas present and I'm STILL trying to get [..] to make the situation right. Their solution was to just send me a steamer tray which won't work if the item is manufactured to only be a rice cooker. I'm asking them to send me a product that matches the item description. I'll let you all know if they honor this request. Meanwhile, don't buy this product!!
