I like this better than Tiger, Zojirushi, Panasonic
Over the past 30 years, I have used Tiger, Zojirushi, Panasonic and other brand rice cookers and after a few months of using the Sanyo, I like this one better than my prior rice cookers - the price ($100 range) is also very reasonable.
I have made rice (Jasmine, Basmati, Korean, Japanese (sushi), brown) and they all came out just right - evenly cooked from top to bottom, side to side. Obviously, you have to know how much water to put in - follow the instructions and then add more or less ...

Sanyo rice Cooker ECJ-HC55S (5 cup)
I purchased the 10 cup version of this cooker for my house. It replaced a 25 dollar rice cooker. Boy-what a difference! I liked my cooker so much I purchased two of these 5 cup cookers for birthday presents.
I highly recommend this cooker based of feedback from the people who received it as a gift. The 10 cup cooker I have is overkill unless you have a very large family. It cooks brown rice perfectly every time. I feed both my dogs brown rice everyday. Brown rice is a nice supplemen...

Outstanding, Except I Broke a Necessary Part
I am absolutely LOVING this rice cooker!
HOWEVER, when I began taking out the various parts and accessories, I dropped the strainer. Alas, one of the "feet" on it broke off immediately. I'm really disappointed, because I wanted very much to use that particular feature regularly.
Otherwise, every type of rice I've made comes up either perfectly or near-perfectly (the adverts state all the types of rice, but the machine itself doesn't include all those rices in the cooking choices)...
