Buyer Beware
I bought this produce because I hoped that it would be healthier than cooking my rice and stews in an alumized pot. It worked fine at first, but then I noticed a fatal flaw to this product, the aluminum element actually deposits aluminum all over the bottom of the pot, (thus when you wash the bowl after use, you are scrubbing aluminum all over the bowl as well as your subsequent dishes). This product is unsafe, and the Consumer Product Safety Commission has been alerted. In the meantime, caveat ...

Easy healthy cooking pot
I love my vitaclay and use it all the time to cook brown rice and veggies. It is safe and easy to clean. I am sad I broke the lid after having it a year and now have to find out where to buy a new one. this pot kicks butt on any plastic or tephlon rice cooker.

I bought the Vitaclay 8 months ago after extensive research. I so wanted to love this rice cooker but it just wasn't in the cards! I wanted a rice cooker that wasn't coated in Teflon and I loved the idea of the clay pot so there was no hesitation about spending $100 on a rice cooker.
