West Bend 84915 5-Quart Oblong-Shaped Slow Cooker with Tote This purchase was to replace a similar West Bend Slow Cooker that I had used for almost 20 years. I simply wore it out. This replacement does everything I wanted it to do and is a little larger. I highly recommend it for slow cooking.

Failed on first use
I've owned several slow cookers and was looking forward to using this West Bend. I tried a corned beef brisket and the unit would not heat above a certain point to create sufficient heat to slowly cook the brisket. I turned it to high and after waiting two days, the brisket was about half done (of course I threw it away). Amazon was very easy on the return. The unit looks simple but apparently the quality control is lacking.
