It works, but it has some problems!
I bought one of these can openers in 2002, and it's still working. My best guess is that I've opened more than 1000 cans with it -- maybe 2000. But it has problems. First, as several people have noted, it chews up the paper labels on the outside of cans that have them. Lining up the blade with the top of the can is not always easy. Pretty good
I have never been able to use automatic can openers, so at my house it's operator error if the thing doesn't work the first time. I like that it's tall. The lids always stay on the can opener after I have removed them. It stores very easily and cleans up pretty nicely. It does shred the wrapping on the can, but I usually throw mine away. Never had a problem with the paper going in the food. (?see comment below?) Overall, I think it's a great buy. Very sleak, I sure don't mind leaving it ...
