Tough and Cute!
I will admit I purchased this can opener because it is pink!... but it is also a Kitchenmaid product, which I have many of in pink, and they are always sturdy. The can opener opens cans so smoothly and with minimal effort. It is a little bulky, but that is probably a good thing since my last can opener obviously broke from being to flimsy. I would buy again... great product!...

I decided that any new gadgets/products for my kitchen have to be color to add to the 'fun' of cooking etc... hence i ignored the bad reviews and thought how bad could a can opener be...

Are you old enough to remember the OLD Swing-A-Way manual can openers that would ALWAYS open any can in the house? This is it. The weight and balance and cutting angle are just right. You won't find a can -- of condensed milk, peas, or fruit that this will not open perfectly. Many new can openeners have trouble if the angle is not quite right on the top or leave uncut strips on the upper surface. Or else your hand gets tired from trying to twist the crank. Not this bad boy. It really does...
