I LIVED FOR YEARS IN HAND CAN-OPENER HELL ...
Can't explain why this can-opener is so amazing. The thing just WORKS. The Swiss and Germans make terrific kitchen gadgets! I've easily had 15 different can openers over the years - all of them CRAP. And just because they weigh a lot (like the kitchen-aids) does NOT mean that they will not rust or even manage to work after 5 months. It does mean, however, that you can place one at your bedside for self-defense. Let me send you my array of useless, start&stop openers!

Why bother with cords, wasting electricity, and the noise, when you can find a wonderful manual can opener like this one? This is ingenious in its design.. it seems they thought of everything! The can opener locks into place when you close it onto the can.... no effort needed to keep it closed.. great for those with arthritis. Works great
Easy to use, and the magnet that lifts the lid off is a very nice addition. Of course a can opener is not going to change your life, but this one works well.
