portable range
My new cottage kitchen needed this single burner portable range. I have used it every day and it is perfect to prepare single meals. Yes it gets hot but so did my regular range. Just don't touch it. This unit gives a variety of settings and I find the low setting perfect for cooking a bump above simmer. It receives my 5 star okydoke....

Nice Hot Plate
I've owned this hot plate for a little over two months now and have pretty much used it daily to make a single serving of black refried beans. It boils the little-over half-a-cup of water in a little under seven minutes and the beans turn out great. One caution is that, except for the legs, the whole device tends to get hot when using it - not just the burner. Overall I consider this a good hot plate and highly recommend it.
