Great product
I started using Brita filters about 3 years ago and I love these filters. Prior to that I used to carry the heavy bottles of water from the store every week. I am not going back to that. I am not an expert and cannot comment on how much they filter or how does the filtered water compare to the bottled water that I used to buy. I do not notice any difference, highly recommended.

Complete deterioration in quality of tap-mount
I am on my third Brita tap mount in 2 months. On the first, the indicator light stopped working even before the first filter change. The second, sent to me by the company as a replacement, didn't fit properly on the tap and kept falling off. The third, another purchase and a brand-new design, leaked copious amounts of water from the filter release button and from the filter vs. tap water toggle.

Hot water issues
If you run hot water through the filter -- which is inevitable as it is unavoidable in a busy kitchen, much as you may try to not to do so -- the indicator light will immediately start showing red, meaning the filter should be replaced. I have researched the situation to try to determine whether hot water damages the actual filter mechanism, or just damages the electronic sensor that keeps track of how much water has gone through the filter, but this information has proven elusive to me.
