Great for imaginery play
I purchased this set for my son's pre-k class as a part of their housekeeping duties. I was informed by his teacher that the disches are a big hit with the boys and well as the girls. They pretend to cook with their play food, eat with the dishes then wash and put the dishes away. This also helps them to become responsible and help out with chores when they become older.

5 cups of Hot Chocolate
My 3 year old made me five (pretend) cups of hot chocolate last night using these dishes. Both of my boys (20 months and 3 1/2) have been having a blast "cooking" for us since they received these on Christmas. They're quite durable and a nice size so the boys feel like they're using "real" dishes. Definitely recommend these as an additional to cookware toys. (We also bought the Melissa and Doug wooden food set and a small microwave and toaster to complete the boys kitchen experience...)
