good value I purchased this item in the marketplace for a large discount off the regular price. I can't say for sure if it's worth the normal price, but it was definitely worth $12 shipped. The review reflects my actual cost.

I actually bought it to use a postal scale -- postal scales themselves tend to run 2-3 times this amount or more, and only weigh up to five pounds. Numbers are difficult to read I was hoping for a heavier more old fashioned scale that mom had when I was growing up. THis one is quite light and looks rather cheaply made. The numbers were difficult to read. I hate to buy things and send them back, but I had to with this one. It just looked too cheap. –M. Jacksonfrom Amazon.com

nice looking scale This is a good, nice looking non-digital scale and it is accurate. For the price what more do you want? It is a little larger than I imagined it would be, about this size of a large cantelope. Anyone trying to decorate in black or stainless will be happy with the look. The bowl holds alot too! –M.
