Extraordinary Value Faxer/Copier
I may be overly enthusiastic about the HP 1040, as I'm coming off a dreadful Sharp machine. Let's just say it's just about amazing how much better quality this machine is. Everything about it screams "well-put-together". The paper transport is smooth as silk, and the controls are very intuitive. I simply can't figure out how HP makes any profit. Highly recommended!

system is stuck
I has 2 of them HP1040 and both are doing the same think. The all system block doesn't do anything. If I unplug it works for a little bit and stuck again .I'm so tired about this product.

3 years and no problems.
I've owned the HP1040 for about 3 years after putting my fist through a previously owned Brother fax, and can honestly say that it has worked flawlessly. Regardless of what other reviewers have said about it, you can connect an answering machine to it. Read the manual! The print quality is excellent and it accepts multiple pages without a flaw.
