05 Feb 2009 You don't need to be a carpenter but common sense helps. I needed something on my desk to house the assorted "things" that accumulated. Beware that this comes unassembled. I was a bit surprised but it is not hard to put together. I did a couple pieces backwards and the finished side is not visible. That's not their fault but it is a bit tricky if you're not in the habit of constructing things.
Nice piece tho. It is a bit bigger than I measured. I'm keeping it. Good if you have a really big desk. This is not a small item. –C. Kauffmanfrom Amazon.com
11 Jan 2009 Just ok This item is FAR to heavy and bulky for it's task. It is reasonably well made, but you have to build it yourself (not difficult). The particle board it probably twice the thickness it should be, and weighs a ton. The design is innovative at least, though it is not especially attractive. –Spaceman Spifffrom Amazon.com
19 Sep 2008 Stylish Shelf, easy to assemble! The shelf is very good for what I needed it for, it keeps my books for work easy to access and I can get to anything quickly. It also has places I can set a photo or a decorative statue, whatever! It give my desk style and functionality, while keeping it organized.

The only thing that may not be desirable about this product is that you will have to assemble it yourself. Fortunately, I like putting things together, but if I did not, I might be aggrivated about that... Overall, it was... –Ileah Vaughnfrom Amazon.com
