Display failed after a year or so for no apparent reason
Just like a number of others have reported on this site, the display gave out after a year or so of use although the unit was well taken care of. But while it worked, it was a great little unit - very convenient and efficient. I think I got my money's worth and since I still have left-over label tape (the really expensive part of this proposition), I will probably buy another one....

Works Great for a while THEN DISPLAY FAILS
I've had this item (DYMO LetraTag Personal Label Maker 11944 Silver) for almost two years. When I first got it I was happy. It worked as advertised. I didn't use it much. Mostly it sat in the drawer. It looks like new, but the display has failed to the point that I can not read it. THAT SUCKS! It still prints labels fine, but I can not see what I'm typing until I read it on the printed label. Reading Amazon reviews, I see that this is a fairly common problem with this model. I would NOT rec...

Bad recycling policy, decent product (for a time)
I really liked my letratag. I found the labels printed clearly and stuck well. The device seemed efficient in its use of power. Un fortunately, the display failed after a few years (as it did for other reviewers) and can't be repaired for a reasonable cost.
Dymo has no take-back program or recycling plan, so I am left with a useless bunch of plastic to figure out what to do with. The world is changing, and this kind of irresponsibility is becoming less acceptable, but it is up to us to keep a...
