Fireproof, not burglar proof
For the price, this product works great and meets fire protection requirements. Like the other reviewers mention, don't expect the lock to keep a determined burglar out. The lock is probably more to keep out nosy invited guests. I just leave the key in the keyhole....

Absolute junk
All of these "safes" of this type are absolute junk. It may be useful in a small fire, but a large, hot, house fire of more than 30 minutes will cook the contents. These also offer no protection from water, so when the fire department comes and dumps water on the fire, that water is going to find its way inside the safe and turn whatever is left into a soggy, charred mess. And they can be pried open with a screw driver or simply dropped open as has been stated in other reviews. Believe me, I kno...

No problem if you forget the key....
I lost the keys to this during a move. I was actually kind of excited to try to be a safe-breaker to try to get my stuff. I was very disapointed that all it took as a light hit of a hammer to the lock and BAM it was opened.
Good price, nice to hold things, but don't expect it to protect.
