06 Oct 2008 Solid Drive I've had this drive for 6 months and haven't had any problems, even though I leave it on all the time and get some heavy use out of it. It's a solid product.

Down sides:
1. This drive has a stainless steel shell. When the drive spins for a long time, the shell will vibrate at this really ear-splittingly high frequency that you can hear 40 feet away in a concrete dorm. (fixed with duck tape)
2. You have to plug it into the wall- does not draw power from computer

20 Jul 2008 Excellent Backup & Media Storage Device As a technology guy, I have long advocated backing up your computer, specially for small businesses that do not have an IT staff. I was previously using a Seagate External USB drive, and although it worked fine, it was relatively slow once my data grew so large. I am not a big fan of incremental backups, so I like doing a full back every week and keeping a few weeks worth before overwriting them. 19 Jun 2008 Neatly does the job When my old external backup hard drive (a Maxtor with no turn-off switch) went bad (screwing up my system until I figured out what had gone haywire) I bought this as a replacement. Anyone(like me)who has ever experienced a catastrophic failure of an internal hard drive no doubt has opted for an exterior backup of some kind since they're much easier to work with than CD's or Zips and if you change computers can be a godsend in transferring data.
