Plustek OpticFilm 7500iSE film scanner
The quality of the film scans is very good. Functioning in the "auto mode" gives fine results. The learning curve for manual operation is pretty steep. I haven't mastered that yet, but I'm very satisfied with the scanner so far.
Very poor Customer Serv!!
Acquired 7200ise jan 2008. Scanned approx 200 slides and then did not use it until Jan 2009. Had a major failure as scanned images were covered with green bars. Contacted Plustek customer service, sent requested purchase documentation and have been promised several times that they were sending an RMA to get it repaired. Huge dissapointment - massive color shift and editing required
If you're not interested in spending many minutes editing each scanned image to try to recreate the original slide color quality and depth - DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. At all resolutions and scan attempts I found the 7500SE to produce low quality reproductions of the original with very flat colors, none of the original highlights, and massive amounts of work required to even come close to the original color quality. My advice: save up and buy the Nikon.
