The Samsung FP-T5884 plasma HDTV is large, 58 diagonal inches, yet is very affordable for all the features it includes. It offers a full 1080p high definition resolution 16:9 ratio widescreen with an anti-reflection filter so you can see the highly detailed picture in any room with minimum glare, regardless of the lighting situation. The images come through clearly and brightly, with a 15,000:1 contrast ratio creating darker blacks and crisper whites and all shades in between for even more detail. The 18-bit colors are true and natural, and DVD movies especially have outstanding images when transmitted through one of three available HDMI inputs, even Blu-ray discs show at their best. And the audio is great also, with SRS TruSurround XT coming through two speakers, for virtual surround stereo sound.

After two visits from a Samsung technician, the central logic board was replaced, and that issue does not happen anymore. For settings, I am using slightly modified CNET ...–B. Gorelikfrom Amazon.com

I compared the 58" 1080p versions from Panasonic and Samsung against the 60" from LG and Pioneer. The color, contrast, moving images, and contouring on this Samsung was obviously better than the LG, about the same as the Panasonic, and maybe a little less color intensity than the Pioneer.
