18-volt LXT Li-Ion 3 ah battery ----Must have
The three amp hour battery should be the battery that comes with the Makita tools they fit. If you are a serious user of these tools or make your living with these tools, these batteries are a must. They are a bit pricey, but what the hey, you got to have them. Even with the long life and short charge time I needed back up ready to go instantly and these give me that along with a battery on every tool ready to go, no fumbling around. I highly recommend them.

It's just a battery
What can be said about a battery? It works fine, recharges quickly and lasts per spec. One point - this battery will not fit onto the Makita drills, nor will the drill batteries fit onto the circular saw this battery was designed for. The charger will take either, however.
