14 May 2009 Power in a small, lightweight package ... I'll make this short ... this little driver is a powerhouse!

Soon after I received I had a job to do ... my kids thought it would be interesting to see what was in our neighbors yard, SO ... they decided to tear out the aging fence boards to go check it out. I was horrified to see a gaping hole in our fence leading into the neighbors yard!

I fired up the new drill and had that fence repaired in no time at all (I actually enjoyed it ... but don't tell my kids that!).

29 Mar 2009 Great feel, great battery life I really like the feel of this tool. I bought it about 6 months ago and charged it up, played with it a bit, but haven't really had a need to use it until now. The battery still had plenty of charge after sitting in the case for 6 months! A NiCad would need a full a charge before using after that long. I like the balance, the controls, and the impression of quality I get from it. 08 Mar 2009 Nice, but needs a two speed gear box. I've used my Makita impact driver to drill holes in places I couldn't fit a regular drill simply by using hex drill bits. So people complaining that this isn't a "drill" aren't improvising. The trouble with the Hitachi is that it tops out at 400rpm. The new Makita 10.8v version has a two speed gear box that tops out at over 1000rpm;sufficient for drilling. The 400rpm Hitachi is annoyingly slow at drilling. The nice thing about this Hitachi vs the others is that the grip is smaller. Nice for wive... –PDCfrom Amazon.com
