Broke twice in One day
I purchased this item and had to return it twice cause of mechanical failure. I had an Ace Hardware jig saw for the last 7 years which I bought for $20 and it did the job. I wanted to treat myself with a new tool and always thought Dewalt was a quality brand. Unfortunetly I was wrong....this jigsaw is no good. Seek elsewhere.

Would have expected better for the money and from a well known name!
I purchased my DW317 a year and a half ago. Used it for light use around the house and as a contractor, on some small projects (nothing strenuous). After a few months the variable speed stopped working. Took it to a Dewalt repair facility who said it would take a few months to have it repaired. Now 1 year after being repaired, it just completely stopped working. The orbital action lever keeps on going to level 4 (full orbital) once you let go of it. I really would have expected better for ...
