Fairy-magination Yes, the wings come off, bhut it is not as bad or frustrating as some reviewers have complained. The wings snap back on in about 10 seconds a wing. The doll is best for a 5+ child. The wings are beautiful and capture fairy-magination of girls.

When it comes to Barbie Mariposa, less is more Barbie Mariposa is beautiful, yes, but her super-sized wings broke within five minutes of Barbie coming out of the package. My daughter was very sad about this at first, but still enjoys playing with her wingless Barbie. Her tiara also broke. Glued on the wings-my daughter LOVES it! After a few days of snapping the wings back on every 5 minutes my husband decided to glue them on permanently. I was skeptical but my daughter agreed to it. It has worked out beautifully. My 6 year old daughter LOVES this doll and walks around with it everywhere. In spite of the wing problem I'm glad we bought it for her.
