Very happy 9 year old customer
My son bought this with his allowance money. It was his first Tamagachi purchase and he agonized over which one to buy - with so many versions, prices and colors, it's hard to choose. He was not disappointed by his choice. This one is apparently "cool" looking and the baby T. has been acting just as planned (demanding care, food and companionship). The instructions are a bit daunting - I encourage newcomers to learn how to pause the game right away, othwerwise, the "pet" will suffer.

Grat toy for 7-10 agrd boys and girls
This is a v4 tamagotchi, they now have 4.5 and maybe 5's are out already, I'm not sure. Of course, the later model is the most popular with the kids, but I got these for a screaming 5 bucks and my kids love it. They also hook up to other v4 and you can play games.

Very addictive simple little thing
I bought this silly little thing as a present for my sister and ended up getting my self one. They're horriably addictive. Taking care of these little things is suprisingly fun. The online part is neat. It does require a bit of time when entering codes onto your tamagotchi, but it's still fun. The wireless connection is also a plus.
