Pretty Close to the Original
I have found that there are varying qualities of Rubik's Cubes out there- some have stickers practically peeling off right out of the box and others feel like they are built to last a while. This particular Cube, the 25th Anniversary one, seems pretty close to the original to me. The stickers stay on really well, it turns a bit stiffly at first and then loosens up with use, which is good, and it feels fairly durable.
The puzzling Rubic's Cube
It seems to me that the Rubik's cube is a puzzle that only comes into the world every thousand years. It's amazing to try to get the colors lined up just right and to watch someone look it over, put it behind their backs and set it right is truly amazing to me. I think the cube has the ability to encourage our thinking, logic and other skills, perhaps even social skills as others are interested in "how we did it"!
